Wellgosh Wears | Dive Back Into The Surreal World Of Cav Empt, With Their AW22 Collection.

In the world of contemporary, elevated streetwear, brands seem to be going through a creative “golden era”, focusing on the experimentation of different materials, silhouettes and graphics, ironically making it harder to stand out from one another in a push for the expression of creativity. One label that consistently delivers refreshing, unique designs is Japan’s Cav Empt, taking their namesake from the Latin phrase “Caveat Emptor”, translating to “buyer beware”.

C.E. was formed by three previous colleagues of A Bathing Ape’s Nigo, that have been credited as working on various projects including Billionaire Boys Club, comprising of the enigmatic Sk8thing, Hishi, who famously left the fashion world for a brief stint in a bookshop and Toby Feltwell, who previously worked at Mo’Wax records, signing a 17-year-old Dizzee Rascal playing a pivotal part in the growth of the UK Grime scene.

This season’s drop sees the development of the brand’s use of dystopian graphics refined, decorating t-shirts and sweatshirts, alongside lightweight fleeces for layering, mismatched overshirts and cut ‘n’ sew pieces blending corduroy with different textiles for a statement look. There are also versatile trousers, lightweight tech jackets and a classic crewneck sweatshirt to choose from.
