Vans teams up with the luxury, skate-inspired Milan-based brand Palm Angels, created by former Moncler artistic director and photographer Francesco Ragazzi. Established in 2015, the bold colours and prints of the brand took the world by storm, with the perfect balance of streetwear and high-end influence.

The brand was formed after Ragazzi took a picture of someone skating with the backdrop of Venice Beach. Whilst the sun was setting against the palm trees, a halo formed around the skater and thus, Palm Angels was born. With an emphasis on unisex fits, high-quality fabric and a preppy ‘70s feel, Ragazzi pushes for a genderless, ready-to-wear future of skate clothing and accessories.

Vans was a natural partner for the collaboration, with a lengthy service to skateboarding culture stretching back to 1966 when the canvas deck shoes released under The Van Doren Rubber Company were adopted during the birth of skating for their low-profile and grippy waffle sole. The skate shoes are renowned for their use of bold primary colours, something that Palm Angels administer in their own designs.

The collection includes a low, mid and hi-top option with a combination of suede and canvas, DIY taped collaborative graphics sat atop a translucent sole unit for a unique impact.
