This week’s Wellgosh Wears features a combination of contemporary techwear, with comfortable streetwear staples from hard-hitting brands new and old to create a unique look. The eye-catching Taps Tie Dye Multipocket jacket from Italian brand Nemen, created by Leonardo Fasolo with a very heavy influence from sportswear and tech clothing mastermind; Massimo Osti; taking his favourite features from brands like Stone Island and CP Company and creating something completely independent. This lightweight shell jacket boasts a specialised tie-dye finish that mimics hot lava, with a high-neck funnel-style hood, four large press-stud fastened utility pockets and a detachable branded sleeve panel. For a cosy mid-layer, the premium high-fashion-meets-streetwear brand Aries offers up a boxy, oversized brushed-back cotton sweatshirt, with a dystopian “The Computers Are Coming” chest graphic printed on top of a classic pink Aries logo. This neutral jumper also boasts a ribbed hem and sleeve cuffs, with slightly dropped shoulders retaining the shape of the piece and is also manufactured in Italy. New York’s creative hub and printing studio LQQK, with a history of working with the seminal artist Drake, provides a versatile and tongue-in-cheek “Squirt” graphic tee with a relaxed fit and cotton construction. A metallic logo adds a minimal, yet high-impact look to the piece, making it easy to style for everyday wear.
For the bottoms, the cult 90’s label Maharishi fuses their timeless Snopant silhouette with a 60’s American Army trouser, featuring a durable polyester and cotton construction, preformed knees for freedom of movement, a Snobutton system so the trousers can be converted into ¾ shorts and a single ankle stash pocket. A drawstring adjustable waist and ankles allow a custom fit, and the option to taper the shape. On foot, a super soft neutral suede is combined with supple red leather for the timeless Lone Star from Adidas, straight out of their 70’s archive. This classic streamlined kick can be worn with a plethora of looks, from skinny jeans to balloon-shaped trousers, looking just as good for meals out as they do for away days.
