Since 2010, Zürich-based footwear brand On has combined the experience of retired Ironman winner and world duathlon champion Oliver Bernhard with cutting-edge Swiss engineering provided by his friends David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti. The result is a comfortable, responsive, streetwear-friendly shoe with hikers and techwear enthusiasts itching to get a pair. In 2011, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology published a study confirming runners wearing On ran with lower blood lactate levels and pulse rates.
Fast forward to 2014, and the brand released the world’s lightest running shoe, the On Cloud, leading the shoe to rank in the top 20 as one of the most important running shoes in Germany, Great Britain and the USA. From here, more designs have been created, new technologies have been tinkered with and we’re now lucky enough to stock a shoe that has a sleek, minimalist design with fantastic performance. With breathable and waterproof uppers to choose from in a range of colours, each pair sits atop a CloudTec® midsole providing great return with every stride, combined with a Speedboard™ outsole for incredible grip.
