It’s relentless being an adi-head right now. Special projects are coming through thick & fast (coffee anyone?) & illustrate just how broad a church The Brand With Three Stripes really is.
adidas Originals are tapping into the niche world of Japanese streetwear, (teaming up with the likes of Nigo’s Human Made outfit), & continue collaborating with musical superstars (excuse the pun) through yet another colourful season with none other than Pharrell Williams. They have 2 more hugely successful collections of Gary Aspden’s curated Spezial Projects under their belt, one of which was produced with in collaboration with New Order; a match made in Mancunian heaven. We’ve seen them revisit their iconic 2008 Irak RMX EQT Support Runner by creating two inspired ZX8000s in collaboration with the New York based graffiti pioneers… AW20 has been fast paced to say the least and shows no sign of slowing.
That brings to this weekend, & the next instalment of the revered adidas Originals City Series. This weekend sees the reintroduction of the adidas Originals München. This reproduction pays homage to the cult classic 80’s terrace trainer & is a like-for-like reconstruction of the archival Japanese made shoe that has more allure than a hot pie on a cold Autumnal day. A buttery soft blue suede upper contrasted with cloud white accents are a nod to the Bavarian Flag, sitting atop a classic adidas gum sole gives this terrace kick a classy set of wheels. A true classic in many senses of the word; the story, the silhouette, the colour, the sole, the city… The Brand With Three Stripes.

The adidas Originals München releases 16/10/20 at 11pm BST and is available over on launches.wellgosh.com now
